From a Ramadan special on the App Store to expanding their services to more countries, Apple is firing up all cylinders in improving their products for Middle East users. Now you can add Apple Maps to the group as turn-by-turn directions is rolling out in the UAE.
Users on their iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Watch, and in the car with CarPlay can start using Apple Maps to navigate and find their destinations across the country. The feature will be guiding you whilst driving as well as walking.
It gets even better, as Apple Maps’ turn-by-turn directions comes with full Arabic language support. This should work effortlessly if you use your Apple device in Arabic.
Apple Maps has also added Indoor Maps for Dubai International Airport, Festival City Mall, and The Dubai Mall, one of the world’s largest shopping destinations, giving users a way to explore these locations before even arriving.
Inside the mall, you can see what level your on, location of the restrooms and which outlets are open. When your at the airport, Apple Maps proactively serves flight information for terminals, gate locations and departure times, as well as flight changes or cancellations for upcoming travel
These new Maps features will become available for users over the next several days. Just make sure that you’re on the latest OS releases of your Apple device(s) to avoid any glitches.
No user sign-in is required to use Apple Maps. It is not connected to an Apple ID in any way. Anybody can use it without any caveats.
Privacy is central to the Maps experience, offering personalized features created using on-device intelligence. Apple is reiterating its commitment to keeping personal information safe and has built privacy into the core of Maps.
Any data collected while using the Maps app (search terms, navigation routing and traffic information) is associated with random identifiers that continually reset, ensuring the best possible experience and to improve Maps.
