Cisco WebEx adds Real-Time Translation support for Arabic and Hindi

With so many people working remotely or from home, Zoom became the synonymous word for video conferencing. Cisco is not that far behind, as many business are familiar with Webex video-conferencing software due to its enterprise-friendly features.

Now you’ve got an additional reason to use Webex, as they’re rolling out support for Real-Time Translation from English to 100+ languages. This includes support for Arabic (one of the most commonly used languages) and Hindi. These languages join Dutch, French, German, Japanese, Korean, Russian, Spanish, and many more popular languages.

Officially announced on the Cisco blog, the roll-out is first being tested across different platforms where Webex is available (smartphones/tablets/Windows/macOS).

For those who use Cisco WebEx for their meetings and business work, this makes virtual activities even more inclusive. In situations where attendees may not be fluent to understand presenter’s language, it’’l help save on time for transcribing meetings after they concluded.

This will initially be available as a preview starting from this March. General availability will begin in May. Not all dialects are included as part of the translations.

As for how accurate this would translate it to Arabic due to different dialects across the region, do comment below if you gained access to it.
