I’d say the buzzword for 2019 has been “5G” at many tech-focused events across the world. People forget that the Middle East already forged ahead by deploying 5G well in advance. Xiaomi officially unveiled the Mi Mix 3 5G at Mobile World Congress 2019 in Barcelona. The Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ X50 5G modem provides the 5G connectivity for the Mi Mix 3. This allows users to connect to sub-6GHz signals capable of gigabit-class download speeds.

5G components are more power-intensive in the smartphone; it will have an impact on the thermal properties. Xiaomi has developed a highly-advanced hybrid cooling system by using the Rogers® HeatSORB™ thermal material. Whether you are streaming videos or playing video games, the Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 5G shouldn’t feel very hot in your hands or pocket.

Vodafone Qatar have partnered with Galeries Lafayette to officially allow people to pre-order the Mi Mix 3 5G. If this is the first 5G smartphone to be released for consumers, Xiaomi has the advantage being the first in the Middle East region.
