One thing that most people still like to do in the Middle East with their phones, it’s the old-fashioned standard phone call. Snapchat is capitalising on this cultural preference in the Middle East region by launching a new “Swipe to Call” advertising unit.

What also makes this new feature special that it’s currently exclusive to the Middle East, and first time taht something speical has been tailor-made for the region. Whether it’s for queries or even inquiries, the phone call is still the proven and effective way for most businesses to communicate with customers.

Whenever a user views the relevant add, they’ll easily see a “Swipe up to call” option. Then you’re making a direct phone call with a business and there are no additional fees for the consumer (aside form the standard calling rates by your telecom operator). SMEs will find this feature very useful, as it reduces the time for users to connect with businesses.

The following countries in the Middle East can easily start using “Swipe to Call” on Snapchat via the Ads Manager:

  • United Arab Emirates
  • Saudi Arabia
  • Qatar
  • Kuwait
  • Oman
  • Bahrain
  • Lebanon
  • Jordan

Those interested in learning more about the new “Swipe to Call” advertising unit can visit the Snapchat Business Center on setting it up.
