Shure MV7+ Microphone: empowering Creators in the MENA region

Shure has introduced the MV7+ Microphone to the MENA region, gearing it towards the growing creator economy. With Voice Isolation Technology and advanced features like LED touch panel, Real-time Denoiser, and onboard reverb, it offers broadcast-quality audio across the board.

When I heard that Shure has released the MV7+ Podcast Microphone, my first glance shows that they’ve taken a great product and further tailored it to the growing creator economy.

When I’ve been inside studios where recording voice has been the key pinnacle thing and cancelling out unwanted noise, they always captured voice in almost the same way like an artist. Shure has been a name I’ve seen for the past few years.

Seeing the proliferation and growth of the creator economy worldwide (including in the MENA region, but on a smaller scale from my view), the Shure MV7+ adds a few additional bells and whistles that make it a worthwhile update.

Bells and whistels of the MV7+

Shure has engineered this updated model for discerning streamers, podcasters, and musicians – making it the ideal choice for capturing broadcast-quality audio in even the most challenging of spaces.

With Shure’s cutting-edge Voice Isolation Technology, the focus lies on the user’s voice, avoiding annoying background noises and ensuring outstanding audio for every recording and streaming session.

While it does physically look the same as the MV7, you can still spot some visual differences and even the insides have some improvements.

  • Multi-Color LED Touch Panel: A customizable LED touch panel lets you pick from 16.8 million colors to visualize your sound levels or engage an ambient pulse effect. A simple tap anywhere on the LED Panel Live Meter instantly mutes the microphone, ensuring privacy and control.
  • Real-time Denoiser: Leverage the advanced DSP technology of the MV7+ to eliminate background noise. It works in harmony with the microphone’s Voice Isolation to deliver pristine sound, even in less-than-ideal recording environments.
  • Digital Popper Stopper: Remove harsh plosives sounds to avoid acoustic distractions and a cumbersome physical pop filter on camera (say goodbye to a larger visual filter infront of the mic).
  • Improved Auto Level Mode: Intelligent audio adjustment adapts the microphones gain based on the distance, volume, and room dynamics, providing perfectly balanced sound automatically.
  • Onboard Reverb: Choose from three types of onboard reverb settings (Plate, Hall, or Studio), and set intensity levels to add desired depth and richness to recordings.
  • Hybrid XLR and USB-C outputs: XLR lets you connect to professional equipment like audio mixers, which is an established standard. Don’t have one? The USB-C output connects seamlessly with a laptop/phone/tablet, offering unparalleled flexibility and ease of use. The MV7+ integrates into any setup as it provides hybrid USB-C and XLR output.

The microphone itself isn’t the only place where improvements have been implemented. Shure has also released the new MOTIV Mix™ app for desktop (macOS/Windows) and mobile (iOS/Android). This provides users with the ability to configure all aspects of the MV7+, including the onboard capactive touch LEDs. The software also offers multi-track recording and routing to support users with a greater control of their livestreaming and recordings.

Building on the legacy of the MV7, the updated MV7+ is looking to deliver broadcast-quality audio in any setting while empowering creators with intuitive customization and control.

Want to get one?

The MV7+ Podcast Microphone comes in two colors – black and white. The black option is presently available now via Shure’s official partners across the MENA region. As for the white version, it will be available this summer along with a special bundle option – the MV7+ Podcast kit – that includes the microphone in black and a Gator mic stand.

Each purchase comes with a 3m USB-C to USB-C cable, a printed quick start guide, and a MOTIV MIX Art Card with download instructions. It will be priced at the MSRP of ~QAR 1,113 and its equivalent in local currencies across the GCC region. A separate review will follow going more in-depth into the product itself.

P.S: my friend Gazanfarulla Khan and I decided to kick-start our podcast (been sitting on the idea for 3+ years; roping him in was easy). I highly encourage you to check out The Geeky Nomads on Spotify.
