Apple TV officially expands to Android smartphones and tablets in MENA region

Apple has launched an Android version of the Apple TV app, expanding its service beyond Apple devices. Users can now enjoy Apple Originals and MLS Season Pass on smartphones and tablets. The app features a user-friendly interface, continue watching, watchlist, and offline downloads. Subscriptions can be made through Google Play.

Aside from all the Apple TV+ trial offers made by PlayStation, it was still an Apple service centered to their services. Apple has officially released an Android version of the app for smartphones, tablets, and foldable phones.

Users can now access hit, award-winning Apple Original series and films on Apple TV+, along with MLS Season Pass, the home of Major League Soccer. This also saves you the effort of watching it via the mobile web browser.

The app itself has been built from the ground up to deliver Android users a familiar and intuitive interface. Expect it to have Apple’s design touches so that you still feel like you’re using one of their hardware products. It also including many key features:

  • Continue Watching to pick up where a user left off across all their devices
  • Watchlist to keep track of everything you want to watch in the future
  • The ability to download to watch offline

Android users can subscribe to Apple TV+ and MLS Season Pass using their Google Play account on Android mobile and Google TV devices. Apple TV+ also offers a seven-day free trial.

If you already have an Apple Account with a subscription to Apple TV+ (including via Apple One), just sign in using the same credentials on your Android device with the app. There are a few things you can’t do, which are still exclusive to Apple’s ecosystem/

  • No access to the iTunes Store for renting/purchasing TV shows/movies
  • No link to a user’s library of media that has already been purchased.

New subscribers can sign up and it’ll use the Google Play Store billing system for it. Get the app from the Google Play Store.
