Middle East residents, tune into Disney+ Originals with OSN

Face it, you’ve likely tried every way to register and sign up to Disney+ after seeing the slate of video content. Well, the closest way you can access it is now with the Disney+ Originals.

OSN has inked an exclusive partnership agreement with The Walt Disney Company to distribute Disney+ Originals across the Middle East region, covering both the OSN cable box and streaming service.

Disney+, but not the full package

It’s important to clarify one major point – this is NOT the complete Disney+ service. This is more about the original slate of content made exclusively for The Walt Disney Company’s SVOD streaming platform.

Hence, you can now watch The Mandalorian (the same one that popularized the Baby Yoda meme) and other upcoming Originals when released. This would also cover original documentaries, game shows, talk shows, specials, films, and series.

The announcement couldn’t come at a good time for OSN, given that they’ve just relaunched their streaming service by rebranding Wavo to OSN. With no official availability of Disney+ in the Middle East, this is the first time that Disney+ Originals is being licensed through a third-party entity.

Disney have made no current plans to officially launch Disney+ across the Middle East and North Africa region. Although India is getting it in partnership with Hotstar, we can definitely keep hope that The Walt Disney Company would bring the full-fledged Disney+ service to the region.

Eager to hop onto the OSN service to watch them? This will be included as part of the OSN streaming subscription that costs $9.50/month for all users in the Middle East.

You’ll have to wait till April 9 for the official launch. You can get a head start by downloading the OSN streaming app on the App Store and Google Play, watch it on Apple TV and Android TVs, and select smart TVs by Samsung and LG.

The launch itself will definitely intensify the competition with Netflix’s lead.
