Update (26-04-2023): It seems that Sony PlayStation is still continuing the price reduction promo. Some retailers in UAE (Geekay) and Qatar (Store974) still show units in stock with the reduced pricing for both the standard and digital edition SKUs (including the game bundle SKUs).
Looks like the offer is has been extended until April 30th per a tweet from the PlayStation Arabia account.
The rules did say either by April 23rd or while stocks last. So if you haven’t gotten one yet, don’t miss out as this could be the final extension.
If you’re reading this, we’re already underway with Ramadan. Of course, it’s also one of those key time periods where gaming activity also spikes. That’s a ripe opportunity that Sony is capitalising on with their Ramadan offer on the PlayStation 5.
Get a PS5 during Ramadan
Shortages of the PlayStation 5 are now a thing of the past, as I’ve seen them widely stocked across many retail outlets. Further sweetening the deal, PlayStation Arabia is making this year’s Ramadan even more special (last year, they had sweet deals on the Store for games).
At select retailers in the Middle East, there’s been a price reduction on both the Standard and Digital Edition models of the PlayStation 5. The price reduction has even been extended to select console + game bundles like for God of War: Ragnarok and Horizon: Forbidden West.
If you’re wondering just how much is the reduction, I’ve managed to gather the different prices for a quick comparison.
Standard Edition (New/Old) | Digital Edition (New/Old) | God of War: Ragnarok bundle (New/Old) | Horizon: Forbidden West bundle (New/Old) | |
---|---|---|---|---|
UAE | AED 1,999 / AED 2,200 | AED 1,589 / AED 1,889 | Standard: AED 2,249 / AED 2,549 Digital: AED 1,839 / AED 2,139 | |
Qatar | QAR 1,999 / QAR 2,200 | QAR 1,589 / QAR 1,889 | Standard: QAR 2,249 / QAR 2,549 Digital: QAR 1,839 / QAR 2,139 | Standard: QAR 2,199 / QAR 2,499 |
Kuwait | KWD 161.5 / KWD 185 | KWD 152 / KWD 127.9 |
Note that these are just prices that have been published by select retailers in the above countries. It’s best you check your local retailer for the updated prices.
The offer is valid until April 22/23 (depending on country) or while stocks last at select retailers in your country. If you’ve been waiting to buy one, now is a good time and you don’t want to pass this opportunity.

P.S: If you’ve got a large library of PS4 games and wondering if you’ll miss out, they easily carry over with backwards compatibility. If you’re an avid Discord user, the latest PS5 update brings it to the console as well.
