Who doesn’t love a racing game, whether it’s a hardcore simulator or something that takes real-life cars but puts them with arcade-like handling? If you’ve never heard of the Asphalt series by Gameloft, then you need to go give it a try on your smartphone.
Fans of Formula E (including myself) can virtually race with the Formula E Gen2 car in a series of time-limited events (TLEs) within the Asphalt 9: Legends game. As a sign of the game’s popularity, Asphalt 9: Legends now has 9.5M monthly active users.

These TLEs are launching ahead of the Tokyo E-Prix on Saturday 30 March. Starting from 28 March to 6 April (which is still part of Ramadan here in the Middle East), the Osaka track in Asphalt 9: Legends gives players the chance to race the GEN2 car. The car will be adorned with a special edition Asphalt livery, even with the car’s iconic sounds.
Players who successfully complete the challenges across the three Formula E TLEs will unlock the GEN2 car permanently, joining your virtual garage of the game.
The Formula E TLEs are scheduled to run in conjunction with Formula E season race weekends. Further in-game events have been scheduled for the Portland and London races.
Don’t forget to download/update the game on iOS and/or Android.
