Qualcomm Unveils the ALLaM AI PC at LEAP 2025 in Saudi Arabia

Qualcomm has unveiled the ALLaM PC at Saudi Arabia's LEAP Conference 2025, touted as the world's first AI PC integrated with a national Large Language Model (LLM). Powered by Snapdragon X Elite, it aims to bolster Saudi Arabia's AI ecosystem. Additionally, Qualcomm offers the ALLam Developer Playground for developers to explore AI capabilities.

Saudi Arabia’s LEAP Conference is coming to a close, but that didn’t stop Qualcomm to make a few headlines. Qualcomm Technologies (the very one that makes the Snapdragon SoCs) has introduced the ALLaM PC. That makes it the world’s first AI PC branded with a national Large Language Model (LLM) – notably the seven billion parameter ALLaM model.

The ALLaM LLM by Saudi Arabia PC represents the culmination of Saudi Arabia’s investment in a new AI ecosystem combined with Qualcomm Technologies’ experience in connectivity, high-performance and low-power computing and leading-edge intelligence. For such a device, it’s being powered by the flagship Snapdragon X Elite processor. Based on the chipset powering it, it’s obvious that you need the most powerful one to run the ALLaM model locally on-device.

Though there was no indication on who is the manufacturer, my guess is that it’ll be Lenovo. Given the recent groundbreaking of the Lenovo factory, Alat could possible help manufacture the ALLaM AI PC.

Platform-level foundation

Ensuring Saudi Arabia’s LLM can thrive with Arabic speakers, Qualcomm has added the LLM itself to the Qualcomm AI Hub. This allows developers to create and deeply ALLaM models on devices powered by their products.

Qualcomm also unveiled the ALLam Developer Playground, a cloud environment operating out of a state-of-the-art data center located in Saudi Arabia. The entire system is powered by the Qualcomm AI Inference Suite for Cloud and equipped with advanced and innovative hybrid AI capabilities. They can also take advantage of ready-to-use AI applications and agents, tools and libraries for building Cloud AI and hybrid AI enabled applications. Prospective and interested developers can access the playground today to assess the Suite’s capabilities.
