Google I/O 2025 took place in May, where new features were announced as part of the Gemini suite products including Veo 3. While it was a major upgrade to Veo 2, it was still restricted to the USA.
Fast forward to July 2025. Google is bringing the Veo 3 video-generation model to Gemini Pro users in 159 countries. A good number of these are in the MENA and South Asia region.
Breaking down Veo 3
Veo 3 has the ability to create audio to accompany the generated video clips. This also includes sound effects, background noises and dialogue. Plus, you’ll see significant jump in rendering quality that almost makes it look near realistic. Don’t believe me? See the below embed as an example.
The new model looks to perfectly sync audio with the generated pixels of the video. All these improvements can be traced back to Google DeepMind’s work.
Countering efforts against deepfakes, each generated video uses their proprietary watermarking tech (SynthID). This technology embeds invisible markers into the frames of the generated videos to fight the ongoing deepfake battle.
Start using Veo 3
Using the Veo 3 video generation model is available only to paying subscribers of Google’s AI Pro plan. Additionally, it’s capped at three videos per day. If you try to generate more, it then falls back to the Veo 2 model. Videos using Veo 3 are rendered in 720p and 8 seconds in length. One more thing – Google is adding a visual watermark to all videos generated. You need to be using the AI Ultra plan to save without visual watermarks (available in very few countries).
