Podcast time with Anghami in the Middle East

There’s only so much music that you can listen, but our ears also want something different that nurtures a touch of radio but more focused on certain topics. I’m talking about podcasts and Anghami is rising up to the mantle. By officially launching Podcasts for the MENA region, Anghami is looking to further position their led across the region even with the presence of Spotify and Deezer.

Anghami users can expect to hear podcasts about various topics of interest such as Sports, tech, society, lifestyle, wellness, and music to name a few. In addition to global podcasters and DJ Shows, Anghami listeners can expect 250+ shows from more than 40 regional podcast creators. All of this is a possibility in collaboration with the Podcast community here in the Middle East.

Partnerships galore

Taking on the challenge of rollout out a new product also requires the backing of content partnerships to garner interest and support. That’s why Anghami has announced audio content partnerships with some of the leading publishers in the region. Some of the partnerships encompass topics previously mentioned and include:

  • ITP’s Time Out
  • Arabian Business
  • Harpers Bazaar
  • Eurosports Arabia
  • Jamalouki
  • Gulf News
  • Fatafeat
  • Sports360
  • Communicate ME

These brands will be amongst the first to add their Podcasts on Anghami. They would be joining a lineup of globally renowned podcasters featuring Billboard, Gary Vaynerchuck, Dave Ramsey, Joe Rogan, Trevor Noah, Snoop Dogg and more.

Although the Middle East podcasting community is still in its nascent stages, Anghami is going the next level to support this new product. Select podcasters will the opportunity to use a dedicated space for recording and access to editing tools, supporting local talent and fostering both English and Arabic content.

With more than 70 million listeners spread across the Middle East, Anghami is looking steadfast on scaling Podcasts in the MENA region. Anghami’s availability across mobile, desktop and smart devices offers podcasters accessibility and reach at scale.

Spotify may have doubled down on the podcasting effort with some major acquisitions, and that may have spurred Anghami to bring their product plans forward. Attracting the relevant audience, supporting more content creation, and fueling Podcasting as an industry and not just a feature will be key for this new product in Anghami’s long-term plans.

Time will tell how Anghami uses their regional advantage to retain and nurture listeners, as they work to maintain their lead against Spotify and Deezer.
