Riding the music waves of Eid with Spotify

As many people prefer to stay within the country’s borders, you can expect people to take road trips to rediscover more of their home. That’s where music will help play a role on these road trips, and Spotify has you covered.

Eid al Adha is upon us, even though it’s not like any Eid people would experience with the ongoing pandemic. From launching a new subscription plan for couples to rounding up the Summer music trend, let’s see what the top markets have to say about Eid.

Venturing out across the UAE

Whether it’s driving across to Fujairah, up to Ras Al Khaimah, or between the mountains in Hatta, there’s a song for every point of your road trip that will tantalize all music tastes. So, when you’re heading past Mall of the Emirates, make sure you have your “Dinero” on by Jennifer Lopez, DJ Khaled and Cardi B, then stream “Nasini El Donya” by Ragheb Alama as you go past the Burj Khalifa. Be on the lookout for palaces with “Royals” by Lorde and as you pass the airport and planes fly overhead, why don’t you stream Freedom by Kygo, Zak Abel or Ziad Bourji’s “Shou Helou”.

It won’t be long until you hit the mountains in any of the directions, the perfect time for some “High Hopes” by Panic! at the Disco, or could it be “Up&Up” by Coldplay? It’s not too much further for the trip to Hatta with “View” by Maia Wright the perfect hit to listen to while admiring the epic scenery of the region near Hatta Fort.

If a beach getaway is in the plan, get into the mood with “Ocean Drive” by Duke Dumont and then, as you’re soaking up the sun by the beach in Fujairah, make sure you stream Morcheeba’s “The Sea”. For our adventure seekers who will be heading to Jebel Jais, the journey closing track will be “On Top Of The World” by Imagine Dragons.

What would a road trip be without some great hits along the way so get your Summer Feelings (Lennon Stella, Charlie Puth) on. Maybe it’s 3 Nights(Daniel Fike) you’re off to enjoy, and though it might sound like a “7elm B3eed” (Mahmoud El Esseily) when you’re on your way, do trust that once you reach your destination, you are going to enjoy it “Youm Wara Youm” (Samira Said). Thankfully it’s not A Thousand Miles (Vanessa Carlton) until the “Drive” (Oh Wonder) is over.

Discovering more of Egypt

Egypt is considered a summer destination for tourists and locals alike. With all its eccentricity, this year will see local tourism hit a new level. As people tour the nation and explore its aesthetic sites, Spotify is giving music fans across Egypt the ultimate soundtracks to their road trips this Eid Al Adha.

Halt in travel from Saudi Arabia

While Eid traditionally sees Saudis traveling to different destinations around the world for holidays, this time around, with international travel halted, Saudi residents will be exploring the rich offerings of their own country.

To make their Saudi discoveries unforgettable, Spotify has prepared the ultimate soundtrack.

With Saudis looking to discover the historical, natural and cultural treasures in their country more than ever before, a domestic Saudi tourism initiative called “Breathe” spanning until September 2020 launched to encourage Saudis to unravel what their country has to offer.

Going to relax at the crystal-clear beaches of Umluj off the Red Sea coast? Nothing can express the feeling of sun-kissed bliss better than hearing “The Ocean” by Mike Perry and SHY Martin.

Prefer cloud-filled mountains to golden sand beaches? Trek to Al Soudah Mountains in the south of Saudi where the highest peak in the country stands tall at a towering 3000 meters. The Asir-region mountains are famous for the surreal views they offer and the ability to, literally, walk amongst the clouds. What better track to remind you of your love for KSA than “Hatha Al Saudi Foug” by Fahad ben Fasla.

Prefer a historic-filled adventure instead? Head to the village of Rijal Alma, a hanging village in the mountains of Asir with more than 900 years of history consisting of about 60 buildings built of natural stones, clay, and timber.
