PlayStation 4 users across Middle East can redeem Apple TV+ trial

While stock issues still affect global availability of the PlayStation 5, Sony had announced that they have extended the production of their previous console to help meet demand. While PS5 owners got a special treat exclusive in the form of trial to Apple TV+ in July 2021, that left out those still on the previous gen console.

Sony has now decided to extend the same offer to PlayStation 4 users. Note that the terms are slightly different for those redeeming it on the PS5. Big distinction is that PS4 owners enjoy it for three months, which is half for those on the PS5.

Existing PS4 owners just need to follow a few simple steps to claim this free trial:

  • Find the Apple TV app from your PS4 console’s TV and Video section.
  • Download and open the Apple TV app, and follow the on-screen instructions.
  • Sign in with your Apple ID, or create an Apple ID if you don’t already have one.
  • Enjoy your extended trial of Apple TV+.

Claim it on your PS4

The timing of this offer is not a coincidence following the recent Apple Keynote, which revealed upcoming content additions to the service. The installed base of the PS4 still eclipses the PS5, which widens the pool of users who can redeem it.

Make sure that you have a payment method tied to your Apple ID. If you already have an Apple One subscription, you’re out of luck. The offer is available to new subscribers in the following countries:

  • Qatar
  • UAE
  • Saudi Arabia
  • Bahrain
  • Oman
  • Lebanon
  • India

If you don’t plan to continue using it, you’ll need to cancel the trial else you’ll be billed monthly to your Apple ID on a monthly basis.

The redemption offer is available until until 22nd July 2022, which is also applicable to those with a PS5. Full terms and conditions can be seen on the PlayStation website.
