It’s been a few months since Sony announced the revamp of their PlayStation Plus service. Rather than launching it simultaneously, Sony put out a schedule of the staggered rollout by regions. While it started off in Asia and then covered the Americas and Europe, the Middle East finally gets the new revamped subscription service.
Same, different and upgraded PlayStation Plus
The previous PlayStation Plus remains unchanged, but gets some tweaks and few additions along with new tiers. Some features are not even applicable to the Middle East region (e.g. cloud streaming of PlayStation Now, which has now merged with the new offering). Hence you’ll see the pricing adjusted accordingly.
- Essential is the standard tier and includes: online multiplayer, cloud syncing, monthly free games (2 for the PS4 and one for the PS5), exclusive discounts, exclusive content (when subscription is active), and Share Play.
- The Ultra tier takes the Essential and expands it with access to a large library of games for the PS4 and PS5.
- The Deluxe option takes the Ultra tier and adds access to the catalogue of select games from previous PlayStation console generations (PS1, PS2, PS3, and PSP). You’ll also have the option to trial games before buying them and your progress carries over.

All three subscription tiers also include features exclusive to the PlayStation 5 console: PlayStation Plus collection and Game Help. With these three tiers, there are now three subscription options: monthly, quarterly, and annually. You can also easily upgrade or downgrade to the different tiers
The best part is that the new subscription tiers covers both users of PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 console generations. Production on the latter should begin to ramp up with the recent sales milestone of 20 million sold worldwide. Expect the predecessor to stick around longer, given Sony’s commitment to support their consoles.

P.S: In case you missed it, you can enjoy a trial of Apple TV+ if you redeem the offer on your PS4 or PS5 before mid-July.
