PC Game Pass launches Referral program in MENA region

While it’s only been a few weeks since PC Game Pass expanded to more markets worldwide (including few here in the Middle East), some would like to try it out before paying up for the full feature set. You know, a trial of sorts?

Xbox has given out trials for Game Pass in other markets (USA, Canada, etc.), either with bundled products or as a joint cross marketing activity. So there’s no other way for people in the Middle East and North Africa region to trial it?

That changes immediately with the new Friends Invite program for current PC Game Pass users in all existing markets, including the new and existing ones in the MENA region. This makes it easy for anyone to try it, as it’s sort of a trial feature.

Invites can be generated either via the Xbox app on Windows or the Xbox.com website

Invitations can be generated either via the Xbox app on Windows or the Xbox website (logged into your account). Once invited, new users will have access to the full PC Game Pass features, including an EA Play membership.

There are some restrictions in place, so as to avoid any abuse:

  • Works only for new PC Game Pass members (if you previously used it, you’re out of luck)
  • A total of five (5) invites can be issued
  • Invite links are valid for 30 days. If not redeemed within that period, a new one can be created.
  • Invite only works for PC Game Pass, in spite of the UAE and Saudi Arabia having the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate tier

There’s no better opportunity to get other gamers to experience it. If you want to invite more users, you’ll have to wait till the start of the calendar year for a fresh set of invite slots. Terms of use on the referral can be seen here.
