MENA Hero Project: Empowering Game Developers in the Region

Sony Interactive Entertainment has launched the MENA Hero Project, an incubator program for local game developers in the MENA region. The initiative focuses on PS5, PC, and PSVR2 to to enhance growth and innovation in gaming.

SIE (Sony Interactive Entertainment) has officialy launched the Middle East North Africa Hero Project (MENA Hero Project) for PlayStation. The Hero Project serves as an incubator program aiming to identify promising local developers and support them in bringing compelling gaming experiences to global gaming communities.

Through the MENA Hero Project we aim to drive growth and innovation with game developers in the MENA region.

Ensuring that PlayStation remains the best place to play either on console/PC, SIE is looking to develop multiple regional incubator programs capable of identifying new and diverse developers worldwide.

Primary focus will be on the PS5 and PC, and attention will also be given to the PSVR2 as well (which you can now also use on PC with the new PC adapter).

The MENA Hero Project looks to lower the barrier of entry, while working to take regional work to the globe by providing mentorship, training, and project-based investment.

Game developers should be based in the following countries and also be a registered PlayStation developer:

  • Saudi Arabia
  • United Arab Emirates
  • Bahrain
  • Qatar
  • Oman
  • Kuwait
  • Iraq
  • Jordan
  • Egypt
  • Morocco
  • Tunisia

Interested developers should apply to the program by reading the FAQ and applying on the official website (note that there is a separate link on the website for devs based in Saudi Arabia, and another link for the other eligible MENA countries).
