PlayStation gamers in Middle East can use Apple Pay as alternate payment option

PlayStation has added support for using Apple Pay as an alternate payment option for PS5 and PS4 users in the Middle East.

Update (June 6, 2025): PlayStation has updated their FAQ to also state that the PS4 can now also use Apple Pay as an alternate payment method. Official news came from their account on X.


If you’ve been reluctant to attach your credit card to your PlayStation Network account, you now have an alternate option that brings a sigh of relief. Gamers can now use Apple Pay on their PS5 to pay for games and other content, adding another level of security.

Payment feature works both online via web browser when browsing the PlayStation Store or directly via the console.

– Choose a game or an add-on on PlayStation Store.
– Select the price, choose the right content edition, and then follow the on-screen instructions.
– Select Apple Pay as your payment method at checkout.
– Follow the on-screen instructions to complete your payment.
– Choose a game or an add-on on PlayStation Store and select Add to Cart.
– Select Apple Pay as your payment method at checkout.
– Click Confirm Purchase.
– Follow the on-screen instructions to complete your payment.

According to the official support link, the Apple Pay option is only available in select countries and covers the following in the Middle East region on the PS5 and PS5 Pro.

  • UAE
  • Saudi Arabia
  • Qatar
  • Oman
  • Bahrain
  • Kuwait

Users need to be running iOS 18/iPadOS 18 and higher, as the OS added support for users to make payments on websites by simply scanning a code with their iPhone and completing the transaction.

This integration makes it more convenient for users to use Apple Pay across various platforms and devices. We’ll have to wait and see if a software update will bring the feature to the PS4 console.
